AAAAH THIS IS AWESOME OH GOD. I'm going to put my all into my entry XD I know I can't be the only artist here, so I'm sure I'll have some crazy competition. What an awesome idea!
lucathia: fishbones: redlucathia_rykatu on June 9th, 2010 01:56 am (UTC)
I'm hoping there will be lots of entries! We have more than 40 members around now, so hopefully there are a good number of artists who are interested in this. ♥ I might try something too, but I don't know...I'm not too great of an artist. XD;

I can't wait to see what you come up with! ♥ Take your time~, you have one month. :D
Kyrie: Mars Sadkyriefluffins on June 9th, 2010 01:52 am (UTC)
Wow, this is cool! I know you get points just for trying, but idk if I can. Someone has all my Prismacolor markers ; ; ♥.
lucathia: fishbones: pinklucathia_rykatu on June 9th, 2010 02:13 am (UTC)
Awww, you should still try~. Design and art skills will both count! Or are your prismacolors your only source of color? I should probably state that this pic has to be in color. We're designing Akai-san after all. |D
Kyrie: Cooking GaGakyriefluffins on June 9th, 2010 02:15 am (UTC)
Yep! That's the only way I color XD.

But I guess I could try my hand at coloring with Photoshop! ^-^
orechibisama: Renji - love meorechibisama on June 10th, 2010 12:37 am (UTC)
Does gender matter? And also, collar as in dog collar or shirt collar? or our own interpretations?? :3
lucathialucathia_rykatu on June 10th, 2010 12:54 am (UTC)
Akai-san is Akai-san. |D Since Akai-san is called by "san", Akai-san can be any gender, though perhaps Akai-san might be a little older (at least 20's maybe?) to warrant the "san". But those are just my thoughts. XD; It's up to your interpretation! I would personally love to see a hot bishounen *cough* or someone very ambiguous. As long as your drawing fits the requirements listed above, anything goes. If this has enough participation, I'll hold contests for the other colors too. Some of those will definitely fit certain gender and ages better. Akai-san is probably the most ambiguous.

Collar...I was thinking shirt collar, but any collar works, haha.

kidalanna: bunny heartkidalanna on June 11th, 2010 07:03 pm (UTC)
This sounds fun~ :D
I'm not awesome at art, but I'll try anyway! (here's hoping I get Photoshop back before the deadline, or else I'll be stuck coloring with Pixler)
So, I saw that someone else clarified one of my questions on collars, however, does the collar have to be on the neck or can it be right at the base of the neck...?
Also, as a shirt collar, does it have to be one of those button-up shirt collars, or can it be something different?
lucathia: fishbones: ringlucathia_rykatu on June 11th, 2010 08:12 pm (UTC)
The collar can be any kind of collar. It can be a high collar all the way up to the chin, or it can be one of those dress shirt collars. Whatever you come up with~
⌈Mnemosyne Quintess⌋: air gear --+ simcakidalana on June 12th, 2010 05:09 am (UTC)
I'll use images as examples since I fail with words. Would something like this sort of thing count as a knee high shoe? Assuming that the straps/laces/whatever they're called reach the knee of course.
lucathialucathia_rykatu on June 12th, 2010 05:38 am (UTC)
Yes, that would count as knee high. :3
Nopecaitirin on June 13th, 2010 01:34 am (UTC)
So... even if my art skills are REALLY terrible I can still participate? *she of the stick figure art*
lucathia: fishbones: yagyuulucathia_rykatu on June 13th, 2010 02:35 am (UTC)
Even stick figures can look awesome, hahaha, but I'm not sure if you can show all the requirements with stick figures. Still, if you're asking if you'll receive prizes for participating even if your art skills aren't great, then the answer is yes. Everyone receives the same rewards for participating, and the winner will receive extra.
Nopecaitirin on June 13th, 2010 12:05 pm (UTC)
Okay :) I will do my best to meet all the requirements so I can make a good participation effort. Thanks!

Um, question.

Does Akai-san have to be humanoid? Regarding the "knee-high shoes" could a leather covering up to mid-haunch, not involving covering the paws, count?

I can't draw humanoids terribly well, but I had some ideas for a cute critter that'd fit your bill.
lucathia: fishbones: pinklucathia_rykatu on June 14th, 2010 11:53 pm (UTC)
Hm, to this, I would have to say yes, Akai-san has to be humanoid. Paws and animal ears and tails or whatnot can be involved, but Akai-san must look human.
θεά: calling youmewblackberri on June 27th, 2010 04:43 am (UTC)
Which kanji is Akai written with, or is it in hirigana? I can't find one that's androgynous or male, so I wasn't sure what kanji to doodle on the picture... [I wanted to write his/her name.] Is it just straight up cardinal/scarlet, or is the name just a homophone for red? [Akai can be written as in scarlet/bloody clothes as well, or love ocean, or crimson town.] Pardon me for being a twerp, but I like writing my kanji. Oh, and since Akai is generally a girl's name, should Akai-san be feminine whether or not it's a guy?
lucathialucathia_rykatu on June 27th, 2010 05:37 am (UTC)
I haven't thought of a kanji for Akai. Hiragana would be fine. あかい
Or if that's not cool enough, you can use the kanji 赤井. I first heard this as a name for a guy (from Detective Conan). You can make Akai-san feminine or not. Up to you. :3
θεά: Special Spellmewblackberri on June 27th, 2010 02:50 pm (UTC)
A boy named Akai... never run into that before. I pity the foo'. So it's red town/well, then. Simply kanji, ftw~ Is it alright if I draw her multiple times from different angles? [Like back, front, hands, hair down, that sorta set up.]
chibibabschibibabs on June 30th, 2010 09:22 am (UTC)
Can it be drawn on a paper sheet and scan afterwards ?
lucathialucathia_rykatu on June 30th, 2010 05:18 pm (UTC)
Yes, it can be drawn traditionally and scanned afterward.
kidalanna: bunny heartkidalanna on June 30th, 2010 03:51 pm (UTC)
I have a question (again)- are we allowed to draw a front and back view?
lucathialucathia_rykatu on June 30th, 2010 05:20 pm (UTC)
You can, but I will only display one of the drawings.
kidalanna: bunny heartkidalanna on June 30th, 2010 09:06 pm (UTC)
Mmkay. Thanks for clearing that up~ ^^
kidalanna: bunny heartkidalanna on June 30th, 2010 10:35 pm (UTC)
I have returned, with a new question.
Does Akai-san have to wear ALL red, or can they wear mostly red with other colors?
